Rock Spring Presbyterian Church / Moller organ
Beginning in 2006, we were asked by former Organist/Choirmaster Pedrag Gosta to formulate a plan for the 1976 Moller pipe organ
installed at Rock Spring Presbyterian Church. What began as a design for tonal renovations, progressed into a plan for a new instrument using parts
of the existing instrument. This was predicated by the rapid deterioration of the mechanical and electrical systems in the organ.
With the arrival of Christian Schoen as Organist/Choirmaster, a completely new plan was devised to reflect a more ecletic tonal
design. Along with that new tonal scheme, a new facade was devised for the main sanctuary organ and plans were included for a Gallery organ division
with two matching cases.
In this instrument, the existing console shell will be retained due to the space restraints of the choir area. All new windchests of our propriatary design will be built for years of reliable service. In a throw back to the early 20th Century, most of the Great organ will be under expression. This grants the organist two enclosed divisions while the Great Diapason and Octave retain proper projection to lead the instrument. Some existing Moller pipes will be reused through rescaling and revoicing. All the pipes, old and new, will reflect our belief that every pipe should speak with a rich, full sound that blends with others. It is sounds like these that best work with and support the human voice.
This instrument is currently awaiting funding.
