"We are so pleased with the tonal improvements Coulter made on our Bedient;
parishioners noticed the changes even before the work was complete.
Robert and Jonathan spent many hours not only on each
stop, but also on making sure the ensemble was improved."

What began as a plan to simply correct deficient pipe speech in the 1992 organ by Bedient, quickly evolved.
Even on the first day of voicing, mention was made by the Organist/Choirmaster to soften the Swell 8' Trumpet.
Softening one stop lead to other evaluations of balance and evenness of speech. Ultimately by the end of the second day, it was
decided to address the instrument as a whole. In our work, all of the flue ranks were carefully regulated for blend and balance, all
with close consultation of Julie Ryder, Organist-Choirmaster. No stop was considered completed without her input.
Along with the flue voices, great care and much time were given in the revoicing of the reed stops in the organ. The revoicing of
the reed stops included use of techniques of English origin, taught to me by an Italian, while I was working in Sweden, used here on
voices by an American builder, built in a French classical style.
It should be noted that while our work would best be considered a revoicing of this instrument, we have not changed its character.
This organ retains its strong, individualistic character, and is most certainly a Bedient organ. Our work with the musician was to
refine these voices for the needs of the congregations.
